Community Service
Since its founding in 1945, Standard has always had a commitment to service in its surrounding communities.
The long list of civic organizations that Standard employees have been involved in includes the United Way, the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, the YMCA, the Kidney Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Landmarks Foundation, and Wounded Warriors, just to name a few.
Examples of our involvement with these civic organizations include furnishing and installing the entire roof system for the new building to house the Central Alabama Red Cross; furnishing and installing shingle roof systems on ten homes for a Habitat for Humanity “blitz build”; roof systems for multiple historic structures that are part of Old Alabama Town; annual financial support for the American Red Cross, the YMCA, the United Way, and the Kidney Foundation.
In addition to support of civic organizations, many Standard employees have been active in coaching youth sports and in their respective churches in lay activities such as teaching Sunday School and holding leadership positions in their congregation.
Standard has and will continue to support civic and community organizations because it’s the right thing to do - and that’s why “Do the Right Thing” is one of Standard’s Core Values!
